We love 3D printing and now the next stage has been developed a foldable version…
The FoldaRap is an open-source 3d-Printer, easy to assemble, and most important : foldable to bring it anywhere !
Main features :
Foldable
Made with robust aluminium extrusions
Max print volume of 140 x 140 x 140 mm (consumable : PLA filament of 1,75mm)
Easy to assemble
All the electronics are safely enclosed in the base, connected via USB
Works with open-source softwares that run on windows, mac, linux
Use common standards formats of the industry (STL, AMF, OBJ)
Maker Emmanuel Gilloz is driven by his experience at 3D printing meetups, where people carefully transport their assembled machines together and learn 3D printing by doing it. 3D printers of today are generally not that transportable and now Gilloz has addressed the issue, and quite nicely too. Small enough to fit in our hand luggage if you so wish!!
FoldaRap is now a fundraising project on Ulule, where Gilloz hopes to raise €6500, but currently he’s well beyond that, showing the interest within the 3D printing community and further.
